OTOAI in association with the German National Tourist Office recently
conducted a destination update and a members meet on 12th July, 2023 at the
Hyatt Regency, Lucknow.
The evening began with a welcome note by Ms. Monia Kapoor, OTOAI Joint
Secretary. She said, “OTOAI was committed to reaching out to its members and
updating them with accurate destination knowledge and expertise”
Mr. Shravan Bhalla, Vice President of OTOAI, called for a minute of silence in
the memory of M Shoeb Qureshi (Heena Tours). He welcomed all the members
and the GNTO team and said, “The event is a great opportunity for our
members to network and interact with the representatives from the German
tourism industry.”
Ms. Anika Tandon, Manager Sales and Marketing, German National Tourist
Office in India, briefed the members on the various opportunities Germany
offers as a tourist destination and addressed the queries regarding the destination
and visa requirements. The event featured a presentation about the country’s
diverse tourism offerings and covered a range of topics including Germany’s
history, culture, cuisine, and natural landscapes.
In addition to the presentations, the event also included an OTOAI members
meet, where the members had the opportunity to network with fellow industry
members and discuss matters pertaining to the tourism industry in India.
Commenting on the success of the event, Ms. Anika Tondon, said, “We are
delighted at the enthusiastic response of our partners in India. The interest
shown by the OTOAI members is a testament to the growing appeal of
Germany as a holiday destination for Indian travellers. We look forward to
welcoming more Indian visitors to Germany in the coming months.”
The event was attended by a range of industry stakeholders including tour
operators and travel agents from Lucknow. With such collaborative efforts
between GNTO and OTOAI, it is expected that the popularity of Germany as a
tourism destination among Indian travellers will continue to grow in the coming
years.
